So here is a guide how to get DLC to work for your JTAG/RGH

Thing you need:
XM360 (v2.0d - latest version)
https://www.box.com/s/dimba5znajqgqnt41qsz
Horizon
http://xboxpirate.eu/forums/topic/520-horizon-25101/

What is XM360?
  • It allows you to unlock XBLA and DLC.
  • It allows you to sort XBLA by title, release date, rating, etc.
  • It allows you to launch XBLA titles
  • It allows you to "backup" TUs to a separate directory that isn't subject to wiping by the 360.
  • It allows you to delete content.

Things to know before doing this:
There are some things you have to know before doing any transferring to your xbox, that is the file structure.

Content Location:
  • /partition3/content/0000000000000000/<TITLEID>/<OFFERID>/
Save Location:
  • /partition3/content/<PROFILEID>/<TITLEID>/<OFFERID>/
OFFERID's
00000002 - Extra Content
000B0000 - Title Updates

There are more offerid's like for the themes, music, gamepic but there are important for now

Installing DLC:

So there are multiple ways to do this:
  • FTP
  • Flash drive
  • Flash drive (xbox formatted)
If you don't have an FTP set-up for you xbox doing it with a Flash drive is really simple

Flash drive

Thing you need:
  • Flash drive (size isn't important)
  • File menager on your xbox (ethier FSD File menager or XeX Menu)
  • DLC
1. Download your DLC, when you extract it (if needed) you will get a file with a lot of digits
Example:
6F6992766050D818245ADD408031E280FB5F4E634D

2. So put this file on your USB drive and plug-in your USB drive into your console
3. Open you file manager, navigate to your USB drive
4. Copy that big file
5. Now go to
HDD:\Content\0000000000000000\<GAME TITLE ID FOLDER>
If you don't know your Game Title Id go the the ABGX database
http://abgx360.net/verified.php
If you don't have 00000002 in there make one (as we said before 00000002 folder is for Extra Content)
6. Put the file in the 00000002 folder

Your final folder structure should look like this
HDD:\Content\0000000000000000\<GAME TITLE ID FOLDER>\00000002\<DLC FILE HERE>

Flash drive xbox formatted

Things you need:
  • USB drive (over 1gb)
  • DLC
1. Format your USB drive with Xbox

  • Plug a USB flash drive into a USB port on the front of your console
  • Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings
  • Select Storage or Memory
  • Select USB Storage Device
Posted Image

5. Select Configure Now and confirm that you want to erase all data on the USB flash drive.

2. Open your flash drive with Horizon
3. Drag & Drop the DLC file in the Horizon explorer (It will auto transfer it)
4. Go to your Xbox
5. Navigate to your System Setting > Storage > USB Storage Device > Games And Apps
6. Copy the DLC to your HDD

Problems:

So your DLC's are not working, then there are three main reasons why:
  • DLC is NOT unlocked
  • Incorrect or non-existent Title Update (aka TU)
  • Incorrect launch.ini setting within DashLaunch (I won't get into this for now)

Unlocking DLC's

Things you need:
  • USB drive (to transfer XM360)
  • XM360
1. Download XM360
2. Transfer it to your USB drive
3. Add it onto your Console as Homebrew
4. Launch XM360
5. Select 'Rescan All' - It will scan your console for DLC's, XBLA, Gamesaves and Title Updates

6. Now select 'Show DLC'
7. Finally 'Unlock DLC'

It will tell you that you unlocked your DLC's

Title Update

Most if not all DLC's need title updates, this is also useful for LiNK user.
If you have an internet connection and your console is connected you can Auto Update the title update

Auto update (internet)

1. Go to the Game Library
2. Press Y
3. Scroll down to Manage Title Updates

Posted Image

4. Click again Y to download and A to Activate

Manual Update:

If you manually update you have to download you title updates on your PC. I will look similar to this
TU_1A581V7_000000C000000.0000000000293

You should transfer it to your USB and it should be placed within the Cache folder located at the root of your HDD

I had some questions.

1. You said that final folder structure should look like this
HDD:\Content\0000000000000000\<GAME TITLE ID FOLDER>\00000002\<DLC FILE HERE>, i did all that but i made a "Game" folder in "0000000000000000" folder & have renamed the Game Title Id To Game Name like
http://google.com/url?q=http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d5308ab/
to Gears Of War III. Is that right? Can i do that cuz the game runs fine but i can't see any DLCs.

2. Does Every DLC needs to be unlocked like i downloaded (didn't buy) Retail DLC for GOW III. Made a "00000002" Folder in the game directory as it wasnt there & put the DLCs there. (HORIZON showed they were ok). But i didnt know whether they need to be unlocked or not. How would i know that they are locked?

3. You said to "Add XM360 onto your Console as Homebrew", How do i do that? i know how to copy or move stuff to HDD from FSD or XeX Menu but how to add into Homebrew i dont know.

4. What is this "Title Update" stuff, Is that like a Game Update like those updates for PC games e.g
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/8056066/Max.Payne.3.Update.v1.0.0.113-RELOADED
. Do i need TU for DLCs to work? Where can i find them?

5. Can i play New Non-JTAG games (Region Free or Not) on my JTAG console. Like This new game Metal Gear Solid Revengeance, I found some links to download but im not sure wether it'll run or not?

1. You don't make that folder, it will auto make it. Find a 4D5308AB folder and inside make a 00000002 folder.
You don't put your ISO extraction games in the 0000000000000000 folder you just put them on your HDD1, you can make a Games folder to help you. As I said you can find your Title ID in ABGX

To make it easier for you just format your USB drive with xbox

Format a USB flash drive

I hope you all know how to format your drive to FAT32 but still

Right click on your USB flash drive and Format

File system: FAT32
Tick Quick Format

Posted Image
  • Plug a USB flash drive into a USB port on the front of your console
  • Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings
  • Select Storage or Memory
  • Select USB Storage Device
Posted Image

5. Select Configure Now and confirm that you want to erase all data on the USB flash drive.

Take your USB flash drive and plug it in your computer

Download Horizon:

http://xboxpirate.eu/forums/topic/520-horizon-25101/#entry3092

Take your DLC and Drag and Drop it in the Horizon Explorer

Posted Image

Now you should see it under your games

Posted Image

Go back to your Xbox and Plug-in your USB Drive
Exit out of FSD back to NXE/Metro dash
Go to the System Settings > Memory > USB Storage Device > Games and Apps > Copy the dlc to your HDD

As you can see next to Forza HORIZON DLC there is the Title ID: 4D5309C9

Posted Image

It's the same as one in ABGX

Posted Image

For now skip step 3, because it may work without it.
Note that is not and Update for xbox it's for the PC

4. Yes you can. JTAG/RGH consoles don't have region locks

Post the other ones and i will answer

1. So ur saying i should change the folder name from GOW III to 4D5308AB & then copy the DLC.
I actually downloaded JTAG ripped game. it didn't had a title id so i named it myself & i just copied the folder onto my Xbox hdd making a custom folder through FSD 3.
Ok i'll change the game name to game title id. Will that work?

2. My JTAG game doesnt show up in Metro Dash's My Games option. So when i copy the dlc from system setting how will it reach the desired folder?

3. What about unlocking & Title Update? R these necessary?

4, U said "Note that is not and Update for Xbox it's for the PC". What is?

1. What does your JTAG rip look like, can you give me the link? Did you download a GOD game or and ISO Extraction (iso extractions have default.xex)

2. To exit out to the metro dash press:
Xbox button (big button in the middle of your controller) > Scroll to the right (system) and press System Settings (It will ask you if you want to leave, say yes)

Then go to the Memory and Copy the DLC. Xbox will do your job, It will past it were it should be

3. As I said in the tutorial, it depends. For example I didn't need to do any of that for Forza Horizon DLC's

4. First of all code all internal and external links
Second if you take a look at the download category you will get the answer
Games > PC

OK, I see you have an ISO Extraction. So put it on your USB and transfer it to your HDD. I recommend you make a folder (ex. Games)
If you look at my structure it goes like this
Posted Image

HDD1:\Games\<Games go here>
So if you want to copy my structure. Your would be (for GoW)
HDD1:\Games\GoW3

Did you exit out of the FSD as I said and copied the DLC or you want me to explain it how to do it manually with File Manager

ok i'll do it like yours.
Yes i copied the DLC from the NXE Board but it didn't show up in the game. Also my game doesn't show up in Metro dashboard.
When i ran XM360 to unlock it showed that i had 11 DLCs which it unlocked but still wouldn't show up in the game. When i run the game it got stuck on "Adding downloaded content in the main menu" option & after maybe 6-8 mins later.........Nada....Nothing at all. Every time i start the game, It happens. The game gets stuck in the beginning when it asks u to "Press Start" like its doing some process but nothing happens. No DLC.
So could u plz make a tutorial how to add dlc from file manager with unlocking. possibly with gears of war 3 dlcs. i'd really appreciate it.

P.S. How can i take snapshots of Xbox screen like u did just now? That way i could show u what happens or maybe make a video for better understanding.

There is not point in doing it manually if you did it trough NXE. But if you want to check go to
Hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\4D5308AB\00000002\ And you should see your files here (DLC's)

Try download the title update.

This is the site for title updates
http://www.xbuc.net/

Here is GoW3
http://www.xbuc.net/?details=Gears%20of%20War%203

Download it and put it in your Cache folder

Press left analog and you will take your screenshoot

One way to do this is by opening the default.xex file in abgx360. You will then see the following

So i just download the software & give path for the default.xex file. it'll give me the media id. Ok I'll try it now. Thanks Admin.

Download abgx360 from abgx360.net. Install it and open the file in your PC. Drag and drop the default.xex file of your game in abgx360's window. Then press the 'launch' button in abgx360.
