A lot of you might be wondering that why all of a sudden all the rapidshare links on the site are dead. I’ve been getting emails about this during the last 3-4 hours and a lot of users have posted comments about dead rapidshare links in various topics.
Unfortunately a couple of hours ago rapidshare deleted all my accounts + removed all my files from their servers. So all the rapidshare links on the site + every backup i had of the games posted here are now dead.
The current Problems
This actually is quite a big problem for me and everyone who uses this site because of various reasons.
1. Out of a total of 550+ games posted on this site, 400+ only had a rapidshare mirror and backups of these games were stored in my rapidshare accounts. As my accounts are now dead, these 400+ games dont have any download links at all.
2. Every game on this site had a backup on rapidshare. Now that these backups are gone re-uploading games is not going to be a 15-20 minutes process anymore.
3. Because all game backups are now gone, 90% of the games currently posted are dead and they will have to be re-uploaded from scratch. i.e. get it from original sources (private trackers), unpack, verify, repack and upload.
4. The biggest problem which i see right now is the amount of time it’ll take me to fix everything. Everyone here knows how slowly the current process of adding mirrors was going. Now to top that as pretty much everything is now dead, i cant even imagine the time it’ll take me to get everything back up on 1-2 hosts even.
5. If you were downloading a game that does not have a working alternate mirror to rapidshare, you will not be able to resume that download. If there is a working mirror of that game, please download any remaining parts from that mirror. As every rapidshare only game has to be re-uploaded from scratch, the new links (whenever they are added) will not be compatible with the old ones.
Things that’ll happen in the coming days
1. The game request section is going to be closed indefinitely and all game requests will be put on a hold. Until this issue is fixed, no request will be filled.
2. Ps3pirate is going to be shut down. I know that the site was already dead but i was hoping to fix that starting next week. Seeing that all my time will be spent on fixing this site, i cant afford to spend time + money on other projects.
3. I will not be available for most of the time to answer people’s questions. Although i will try to find some time for this but it just wont be possible. So i strongly encourage members to help each other out and try to solve each other’s problems. This way i will be able to spend more time fixing the site than answer everyone’s question.
- New games are still going to be uploaded on all the hosts which i’m using right now, so that isn’t really a problem.
- Right now my main priority will be to fix ‘popular’ games first and then go for lesser known games as most people would want that.
- If anyone knows of a website which offers a good file backup solution with lots of disc space then please let me know. I’ll have to find a new website to keep backups as rapidshare isn’t reliable enough.
