hi i dont know if im in the right place here. my xbox360 wont turn on i get 3 red ring but my power brick lights green.
to metion my xbox doesnt have the original xclamp.it has thoes washers and bolt that screw under the heat sink. iv tried switching off the fan to let i heat mayb the solder will melt and reflow but doesnt work. will buying a new xclamp repair kit fix my problem. error code 0021
All you can do is remove the thermal compound from the GPU/CPU and their heatsinks and try again. Buying another clamp fix kit will not do any better for you as the screws+washers are unlikely to be the problem. But it has been reported that varying the tightness of the screws has got better results for some people, slackening a quarter turn has worked well according to a few. All you can do is make sure your GPU/CPU are both spotlessly clean and your thermal compound is good quality. Also make surethat you dont put too much or too little on each component. Some consoles just do not hold the fix though, no matter how much you try. Good luck!
hi sarcastixx thanks for the advice.ill surely try that.ive removed the metal washer and try only the plastic one under the heat sink. now my power supply no longer lights green it goes red and the console does not start at all.ill try slacking the screws a bit.

xkey does not use any custom firmware. LT+ and LU firmware versions only apply to backups on discs. The c4eva statement is self explanatory; it apples to all the methods listed.

Okay, just completed the update on my flashed LT3.0 console. backups booted up just fine, still on xbox live. everything SEEMS to be working fine. but still if you wish to do so, wait for c4evas livelog.

You answered your own question mate, just accept the update from XBL when prompted. It is an automatic process and it has been cleared as safe to accept by c4eva.

Try burning a movie or music to a regular cheap CD or DVD with the same burner. If it is doing the same to those as well as your dual layers, your laser is either needing cleaned or replaced.

If I were u I would just update it to LT+ 3.0, its safe and will run every game! Almost 100% of new games are XGD3, it would be really hard work to “convert” to XGD2 everytime… update it! it will be easier!

First;what console you have?
And you will need flashing hardware.
And even if you have an already flashed Slim you don’t need to do any more soldering or cutting.
Just the flashing hardware that will cost approximately 60$.
You maybe can flash a LiteOn 83850(Phat console) Before Dashboard 13146 if motherboard will recognize the drive.(not all 83850 LiteOn can be flashed this easy)
The 83850 Lite On,I meant that it is maybe able to flash without any flashing hardware.

I’d do it after flashing it to LT+3, because their could be errors or problems when going and updating while you’re on LT+2 to LT+3.

You can’t update a Lt2(except HITACHI drive maybe) to dashboard 15574 you will get an error the xbox will be stuck.
You can update Lt3 firmware to this dashboard,but it is recommended to flash to original firmware update dashboard and then flash to Lt3.
Sorry it will not get stuck.
I don’t quite remember but i think your xbox will not play ap25 xgd3 games,but it doesn’t matter after you flash to Lt3.
Again its recommended to flash to original firmware before every dashboard update.
Flashing to stock before updating the dashboard hasn’t been necessary for a long time. Post 13599 and with LT+3 you are guaranteed to be safe (to date).
Latest LT+ firmware:
LT+3 = BenQ/LiteOn
LT+2.01/2.0b = Samsung/Hitachi 78+79 respectively.
Will my system be flagged if a I play a game that has no abgx verification?
If your abgx360 program says their’s something wrong with the iso, there is a high chance of being flagged. If it says you have no security padding or doesn’t pass the basic stealth check, you probably won’t last 1-2 days. I’d think you’d be caught straight away though, because your xbox sends data to MS from your disc, to say if it’s pirated or something wrong with it’s security etc. So the answer’s most likely gonna be a yes.
No abgx verification does not mean the Iso is bad, it simply means they can not compare the Iso with a retail Iso as its not in their database.Do not play a game that fails the abgx verification if its not yet released , but if its from a trusted source and abgx.net does not label it as nuked or corrupted and the game is already out then it still should be fine without the verification, I have rugby league live 2 which has been out for like 2 months and still fails abgx verification but I play that online all the time, I ripped it myself so I know it’s fine, but as I use a xkey I don’t waste discs so if you plan on burning to discs I would wait for abgx to verify your game as it is still recommended to verify a game if abgx has it in their database

Its already been declared safe. If there were any issues they would have been well reported by now. C4eva has already said it is safe, livelogs only confirm it and c4 only does it for good practice.

So many repeat questions about the latest update, so many people who refuse to do their own research!
Please take note everyone: Latest update IS SAFE. Already cleared from c4 himself. As long as you are on a post 13599 dashboard you are 100% guaranteed to be safe. Period. No ifs, buts. Do the update. Accept it from MS via XBL or do it via usb. Makes absolutely no difference what method you use.

This means ALL custom firmware is unaffected. Every one of them. There is nobody with an LT+ modified console that this doesnt apply to, UNLESS you are on a pre 13599 dashboard.

Seen some posts about abgx verification so thought I would post a some abgx specific info for people:
Uploads that are released by dedicated release groups are done with an 0800 drive. This drive has the firmware on it that will allow windows to see it as a normal dvd drive. XBC is the program used to access the various partitions on a retail disc. The rip will process the AP25/6 sector, this is the sector that contains the AP (Anti Piracy data) in all XGD2/3 (Xbox Game Disc 2/3). The AP method currently used by MS is by means of the console taking a physical measurement of the angles of the data across the disc. This is called a “challenge”. These are matched against a challenge “table” and there is an allowable margin of error in the results produced. The LT+ firmware uses a sector of what is called topology data to correctly answer ALL the challenges a dvd drive may get. It is this topology data that allows people to be safe on XBL.
Abgx is an external process that works independently from LT+ firmware. All it does is examine the data on the disc and calculate the deviance of the margin of error allowed from a “perfect burn”. These are typically displayed as CCRT (Challenge Response Table) values. Normally, a fraction of less than 1% is seen on scene release rips; which is well inside the allowable margins. The other data sectors: SS (Security Sector), DMI (Disk Manufacturing Information and PFI (Physical Format Information and the all important game data sectors all receive their own individual checks for data integrity. This is known as a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check). A “verified” game is one that has been officially added to the abgx database. A “verified” rip contains data on the SS and DMI sector data and allows your ISO to be autopatched with their version of them. The abgx SS/DMI data is an average of the angle measurements taken from tens, if not 100′s of rips. This average CCRT table is considered to be a way of “verifying” a rip. On the other hand, an unverified rip DOES NOT MEAN THE ISO IS UNSAFE. Abgx outputs have different colours, the only ones to take note of are yellow and red. If you get yellow, read it and take note, but DO NOT worry about it. Red text is the one you need to watch out for. In most cases red text means that a CRC has failed and the disc would be very unsafe to use if burnt.
To sum up, ignore any yellow text about verification, they are for information only and do not mean an ISO is unsafe in any way.
Red text always needs action of some sort, usually fixed by allowing abgx to autopatch topology data and/or invalid DMI/SS data. If a game data CRC fails then you have a bad download or corrupt extraction. If you get a game data issue first try to extract your RAR files again and retest. If that fails then you need to re-download (or re-rip). Abgx is a means of verfiying integrity, it is not gospel and downloads may well be safe beforehand without any checking/patching, although this is obviously a gamble and down to individual needs/preferences.
Im aware this is quite a lot of info to take in and I haven’t got the time just now to make it idiot proof, but reading through it carefully will hopefully go a little way to help answer any questions before they come to your mind.
Hopefully when the forum arrives, there will be a tutorial section where this kind of info can be simplified and put up in a structured, less technical way which will suit everyone. Cheers.

My wife has borrowed an xbox 1game from her friend, in order to rip it do I do it the same way I rip xbox360 games using XBC ? I havnt found a reliable tutorial so any info will be great.If I rip using XBC what’s the deal with patching the Iso as I know abgx doesn’t work with xbox 1 games? Any ways thanks fellas

As far as I know original XB games need to be patched and padded to dual layer dvd size. I downloaded a prepatched/padded halo2 ISO from elsewhere but it never got by the loading screen after the intro video.

UPDATE: Weird, I just tried the halo2 ISO with xkey+it plays fine..! Had to download a 5Mb update for it upon launch though, never did that last time so hopefully thats what fixed it..Not sure why it wont play properly off disc, wasted 3 verbs on it..anyway, suppose it proves it can be done, the ISO I have was patched using the tutorial from the link above..
thanks mate, the thing is ive ripped it using XBC using the xbox 1 settings, the game ripped perfectly, and surprised me of the size, 7.6 G/B so i loaded it onto my xkey and it played fine, perfect infact, im just wondering if the xbox1 iso files need extra work done to them, i havent ripped xbox1 games so its all a little vague for me, but the game works, just dont know about the stealth and patching if there needed or not? thanks mate
Could be that an XBC standard 0800 rip is all that is needed for games to run on xkey mate..think it could be just LT+ disc backups that need patched..:P

Not really, most major updates are closely followed up with bugfixes. The latest update is a bugfix for a few things and has no effect on LT+ firmware or xkey..
Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) posted this about the update:

Hi Mates, today when I log in XBL a message appear Says: some XBL contents are temporarily unavailable Error Code: 800705b4 .. and when I try to play COD2 message appears says Main Server 1is temporarily unavailable try again later or log in… And there is a site below, and the stuff on home dash are all gone only a big XBL logo like you are not connected, This is the first time its happening to me.
That actually happened to me a couple of days ago,for me i think it was just a network problem as my nat type also became resricted, i did a xbox live test via settings and it fixed my problem, the xbox live error did not occur and my nat type became open again, try that mate as it worked for me but it could also just be a xbox live issue.
hi, is using clonecd jus as good as using imgburn? because i have burnt a couple of games old school xgd2 with it and they work pretty fine.

i used clonecd because i started getting i/o errors on imgburn.
I/O errors are usually caused by buffer over/underruns..you could try upping the buffers in the ImgBurn to compensate, but using cloneCD will work just as well. Both are good burners, it is just down to individual preference.
so i can be using clonecd and still also burn xgd3 games 100% without truncating? i have the ihas burner.

Yes, as long as your burner is flashed with B-Max firmware, cloneCD will burn your disc 100% without asking to overburn/truncate.

Is it true that when you dont have an IHAS Burner to always burn on overburn or truncate. Also when you over burn it stops at 97% and then thats it because i have read that the remaining 3% is the security or something like that is the thing that hides you when your playing online. I just wanted to know because a friend wants to star and i wanted to be sure. I did tell him to get an IHAS B Version though
